Founded in 12th December, and engaged in research, communication and development of documentary, the Documentary Committee of Radio Film and Television Association of China, is a professional authoritative organization directly substitutes to Radio Film and Television Association of China (RFTAC) under the leadership of the State Administration of Radio Film and Television (SARFT). Mr. Liu Xiliang, the former minister of SARFT, vice president of RFTAC was appointed as the honorary president of the Documentary Committee. Mr. Gaofeng, the vice president of CCTV was appointed as the president of the Documentary Committee. Mr. Gong Jijiu, the senior editor of RFTAC is the vice chairman and general secretary of the Documentary Committee.

The Documentary Committee includes Academy Research Institute，Art Creation Association，Regulation Association，and Female Director Club. The Documentary Committee has set up agencies in many provinces. The administrative departments include Network Marketing Center，Program Marketing Center，Documentary Studio Center，Digital Information Center，DV Management Center，Communication Department, Group Activity Department，Talents Training Center.

We have gained many prominent successes through innovative hardworking and reforms. In 2002, we held the Chinese Documentary Forum, produced and distributed some outstanding series, such as“the hometowns of Great People in China”. In 2006, we made great reforms on documentary assessment. We emphasized on normal documentary and launched the contest, “Recording China”. We have organized various allopatry interviews for local TV Stations. By cooperation with the culture communication center of Ministry of Culture, we have exploited communication channels to the outside world. We have translated our documentaries into 10 languages for international friends. In 2006, we hold the activities of Yuxi Environment-Friendly Documentary Week, and the Chinese Documentary Meeting to display our documentary success in an international scale.
